Pearl the cat and her fear of thunderstorms & spraying behaviour
Laura writes :
Hi
Helen
-
Just
an
update,
I
have
started
using
a
blend
of
peace
and
calming
and
valor
diluted
with
olive
oil
(grown
by
our
neighbours,
organic
and
extra
virgin).
I
put
8
drops
along
her
spine
making
sure
2
were
on
her
hip
area
,
she
then
licks
some
of it so I guess she is getting it both orally and on the coat.
She is calmer, more confident (went out in the rain), not meowing as much, and so
far no urinating in the house. I will keep you posted as to how we are going.
The story of Phichai - 8 week old Korat kitten
Phichai, an 8 week old Korat kitten acquired an unusual fracture of the tibia after some playful romps with litter mates. Her
breeder contacted me after discussions with her vet , about homeopathic support to “fast track” the healing process and to help
support Phichai emotionally in adjusting to her leg in a cast. The challenge with Phichai was that she was still growing and
whilst the healing of the fracture was critical , we still needed to promote normal bone growth and development. A tailored
flower essence remedy was made up using Bach and Australian Bush Flowers to help with the adjustment to the new
arrangement. This helped greatly. Homeopathically we used Symphytum in varying potencies, 30C and 6c. Calc Phos both
homeopathically and in Mineral Tissue salts was also used. Her breeder was shown some bodywork techniques to also
support the muscles and connective tissues. The fracture healed in remarkable time with the cast being removed at 3 weeks.I
am pleased to say that Phichai is doing well and has made a full recovery and upon xray the fractured leg is hardly dedectable
and she has full function in her leg.
(My thanks to Eva Krynda, Phichai’s breeder for sharing Phichair’s story)

Marshall

Korat

approached
me
in
Nov
2013
regarding
homeopathic
support
for
her
cat
during
pregnancy
and
birthing,
as
there
were
potentially
some concerns.
Here is what she has to say:
Sorry its taken this long to get back to you but kittens sure
take up time. I used the Arnica, Sepia 30, Uritica Urens
30C, and Ferr Phos 12X along with some Raspberry Leaf
and some Calcium syrup I already had.
All where easy to give. Your tablets ground and mixed well
and I gave Mekhi a compound mixed with milk via a
dropper or syringe. She delivered easily and recovered
so well so I’d say all were efficacious.
Thanks for your help.
Bella
was
around
6
months
old
when
she
became
part
of
the
Rankin
family.
A
couple
of
months
prior
our
Brown
Burmese
cat,
Demi,
passed
away
from
lymphatic
cancer
leaving
her
7
year
old
companion
behind
(
Damascus
,
also
Brown
Burmese).
After
Demi
passed
away
Damascus
pined
for
her.
He
became
clingy,
pummelling
our
clothes
when
we
picked
him
up
and
cried
for
hours
on
end.
We
finally
decided
to get him another companion to help with his grief.
Bella
had
been
dumped
on
the
street
as
a
kitten
and
a
breeder
had
taken
her
in
and
was
looking
for
a
home
for
her.
We
were
told
that
she
had
runny
eyes
and
this
may
have
been
why
she
was
dumped.
When
we
met
Bella
we
were
surprised
at
her
sunny
personality
and
playful
ways.
It
seemed
she
had
never
been
mistreated
as
she
was
so
trusting.
We
gave
her
L-lysine
supplements
for
her
eyes
but
they
continued
to
run
and
before
long
she
was
sneezing
with
green
mucus
coming
out
of
her
nose.
We
were
advised
by
our
local
vet
to
put
Cortisone
drops
in
her
eyes
as
they
were
inflamed
but
after
our
experiences
with
Demi
and
her
cat
flu,
we
decided
to
try
homeopathic
medicine.
Helen
advised
us
to
try
Euphrasia
and
Allicum
Cepa
drops
for
Bella.
After
we
worked
out
the
correct
dosage
Bella's
eyes
improved
with
the
redness
reducing
significantly
and
her
nose
was
no
longer
infected.
Every
few
days
we
still
need
to
clean
her
eyes
(they
run)
but
we
redose
her
if
they
become
inflamed
again
and
they
continue
to
improve.
Helen
has
also
helped
us
with
changing
the
cats'
diet
(eg
at
times
we
add
parsley
to
their
food
as
this
helps
the
eyes
and
adds
vitamin
C
to
assist
the
immune
system).
She
has
also
explained
the
meaning
of
key
ingredients
that
manufacturers
use
in
pet
food
so
we
are
more
vigilent
with
the
food
we
feed
our
cats.
We
are
grateful
for all her help.

We
have
been
breeding
and
showing
the
beautiful
and
rare
Korats
cats
under
the
Doklao
prefix
since
1994.
Our
Korat
household
comprises
of
three
breeding
queens
(Lilyput,
BB
and
Tia)
a
stud
male
(Yindee)
a
retired
spay
(Bella)
and
a
vesectomised British Blue boy Micky.
We
sought
Helen’s
help
in
particular
to
improve
show
behaviour,
the
management
of
reproductive
problems
and
in
maintaining
a
more
harmonious
multi
cat
household.
BB
is
outgoing
and
playful
but
in
a
cat
show
situation
she
tends
to
be
very shy and timid.
In
a
show
situation
Lilyput
would
hide
and
grumble
and
would
refuse
to
show
herself
when
placed
on
the
judging
table
where
as
Tia
would
lap
up
all
the
accolades
and
attention
but
would
quickly
get
bored
and
become
fidgety
and
more
vocal.
Helen
used
Bowen,
Kinesiology
and
specific
individual
essences
that
she
made
up
for
each
of
the
girls.
We
noticed
that
there
was
a
marked
improvement
in
their
show
behaviour
and
we
had
some
excellent
successes
in
the
show
ring
including
a
Best
in
Show
for
Lilyput
at
the
“No
Frills
Show”
in
September
2008.
We
also
approached
Helen
to
seek
advice
on
supporting
remedies
to
treat
Lilyput’s
pyometra
and
BB’s
aversion
to
mating.
BB
is
now
a
confident
mother
of
five
healthy
kittens
born
November
2008
and
is
happily
sharing
the
mothering
role
with
Tia.
Lilyput
has
made
a
good
recovery
from
the
pyometra
and
we
are
hopeful
that
she
will also soon also be a mother again.

Bella
had
over
the
weekend
developed
Cat
Flu
and
was
under
the
care of her veterinarian.
Joan
was
looking
for
some
additional
support
to
help
with
Bella's
mouth
ulcers,
watery
eyes
and
general
lethargy
and
with
her
vet's
approval gave Helen a call.
Helen
recommended
colloidal
silver
and
manuka
honey
with
the
mouth
ulcers,
along
with
merc
sol
homeopathically
and
alium
cepa
for
the
eyes.
In
addition
crab
apple,
genetian
and
oak,
Bach
Flower
remedies were given to help with lethargy and overrall recuperation.
Joan emailed the following comments
“Thank
you
for
helping
our
Bella,
within
days
of
using
the
remedies
we
say
a
hugh
improvement
and
she
has
continued
to
improve.
She
is
back
to
her
normal
self
and
have
not
needed
to
continue
with
the
vet
medication”

Queenie
was
adopted
from
the
Yagoona
RSPCA
and
initially
very
timid
and
spent
the
first
week
hiding
wherever
she
could
in
the
house.
Queenie
would
very
rarely
venture
out,
only
with
much
coaxing
and
with
the
temptation
of
food.
A
tailored
flower
essence
remedy
with
6
individual
essences
was
prepared
and
given
daily
in
her
food and water.
Helen visited Queenie and Michelle.
Michelle says:
“She
is
much
more
outgoing,
freely
comes
out
from
her
hiding
spaces
and
interacts
with
Sally.
She
is
a
much
more
confident
and
content
kitten.
The
difference
in
Queenie
is
amazing
and
we
are
really
pleased
she
has
adjusted to her new home” says Michelle.

Taurine,
an
essential
amino
acid
found
in
meat
protein
is
essential
for
cats
as
they
cannot
synthesise
it
themselves.
The
best
source
of
taurine
is
fresh
raw
meat.
Deficiencies
of
taurine
can
result
in
blindness
and
heart
failure.
Cats
require
200-
300gms
of
taurine
a
day
which
is
easily
supplied
by
a
diet
that
is more than half raw meat.
